Hello, everybody. I've already written about interesting and usefull servises to integrate into the educational process. Today, I am going to show a concrete example of using computer technologies to enhance children's motivation and interest.
So, on previous lessons, we have passed the "clothes" vocabulary (the 4th form). I am a teacher, and first I want my group to revise the words.
Everyone has a tablet connected to the Internet. I ask the group to follow the link http://www.eslgamesplus.com/clothes-vocabulary-esl-memory-game/.
When they're ready, I pinpoint the time. Children have 3 minutes to cope with the game.
This is a memory game, which stimulates the memory development. Choldren will be given poins, 10 goes to the fastest pupil, 9- for the second and so on. Ready? Move on!
I want to check how properly did the children learn the words. This game includes the fresh "Clothes" vocabulary, and an old one - "Colours".
The group devides into 2 teams, gives them names and choose a colour (red or blue). Then I open http://www.eslgamesplus.com/clothes-and-colors-esl-vocabulary-games-elementary-learners/.
We use one laptop (tablet). In the game I write the teams' names. On the desk where the laptop is there are 2 cards( red and blue).
One child from each group comes to the desk( so 2 pupils are near the game), reads the question and if he or she knows the answer, raises the card with the colour of his/her team and answers the question. The wrong answer means that another team can try to answer. One by one, children answer all the qustions.
The team with the greater number of points wins!
At the end of the lesson everyone gets a mark :)
